Hufanga plays as a football safety for the San Francisco 49ers of the NFL.

Hufanga went to Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Oregon, where he played football as a quarterback, safety, and wide receiver.

He was named the Polynesian High School National Player of the Year in his senior year.

Hufanga participated in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Game.

Hufanga continued on to play collegiate football at the University of Southern California (USC).

He made eight appearances, made five starts, and recorded 51 tackles in his rookie season.

Hufanga has 90 tackles and 3.5 sacks in his second season while playing in all 10 games and starting all of them.

In 2021, the San Francisco 49ers drafted him as 180th pick in the fifth round, of the 2021 NFL Draft for that year, and he later agreed to a four-year rookie deal.

Hufanga made limited appearances on defense as a rookie and mostly played on special teams.
