Tennis champion, Daria Kasatkina, is Russian. She was born in Tolyatti, Samara Oblast.

Her parents were popular athletes who ranked top in national athletics in Russia during their time and right now, her father works as an engineer at the Volga Automotive Plant; while her mother practices law.

Her parents are also of Russian descent.

Daria ranked amongst the top ten in the WTA rankings in 2008, and clinched and won four Tour titles in the WTA singles, as well as one title in doubles.

Daria played in Russia World Group II in 2017 and went on to win her only singles match.

Daria represented her country in 2019 during the zonal competitions, recording a win over Karen Barritza in straight sets.

She helped Russia win their first title when she beat Jil Teichmann in the final in 2021.

Daria currently ranks amongst the top 20 and for the second time in history, Daria became Russian No. 1 player on 16 May 2022.
