Famous actor, Peter Simonischek was best known to international audiences for his leading role in the critically acclaimed comedy-drama film, Toni Erdmann in 2016.

Simonischek was reported dead on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at age 76. No cause of death was revealed.
“A great actor and a wonderful colleague. The death of Peter Simonischek makes me very sad right now. Just recently I saw “Oktober, November” with him again. At the film’s premiere party, we were talking about his death scene and he asked me if he had overplayed it there. Of course, I said no, although I had no idea about the last rebellion of dying. At least I believed him,” actor Wolfgang Zarnack said.
“So sad to hear that the Austrian actor, Peter Simonischek has died. Had the pleasure to work with him in Salzburg during a TV show. It was so interesting to meet him and his wife Brigitte. RIP,” actor Jan Aage Fjortoft also wrote.
