Willem Dafoe is a famous American actor who has been active in the entertainment industry for several decades.

He rose to prominence for his performance in Live and Die in L.A. (1985), in which he played a counterfeiter attempting to elude police capture. Dafoe’s most well-known role was as Sgt. Elias Grodin in Oliver Stone’s Platoon (1986), for which he received his first Academy Award nomination.
Willem Dafoe gained wider recognition for his portrayal of the supervillain Norman Osborn / Green Goblin in Spider-Man (2002), a role he reprised in the sequels Spider-Man 2 (2004) and Spider-Man 3 (2007), as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

Some of his other famous roles include Max Schreck in the 2000 biographical drama “Shadow of the Vampire,” and Thomas Wake in the 2019 horror film “The Lighthouse.” In the DC Extended Universe, he also played Nuidis Vulko in Aquaman (2018) and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023).
Willem Dafoe has been nominated for numerous awards for his work, including four Academy Awards, two Golden Globes, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
