Tori Bowie, American track and field athlete, has sadly passed away. She was found dead at her home in Florida on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Her cause of death is yet to be announced.

Her agency, Iconic Management released an official statement announcing her death via social media.

“We’re devastated to share the very sad news that Tori Bowie has passed away. We’ve lost a client, dear friend, daughter, and sister. Tori was a champion… a beacon of light that shined so bright! We’re truly heartbroken and our prayers are with the family and friends,” the statement read.

Born in Mississippi, Bowie started her career while she was attending Pisgah High School. She competed in track and also played women’s basketball. She was a two-time winner of the state high school championship in the 100m, 200m, and long jump and was part of three 4x100m relay wins.
She won her first major medal at the World Athletic Championships in 2015; she won bronze in the 100m, before going to the Rio Olympics in 2016.
In 2017, she participated in the World Championship in London and raced to a 100m victory. She won two Gold medals that year; in the 4x100m relay and 100m.
