What is the prize money for the Women’s World Cup 2023?

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is the ninth edition of FIFA’s quadrennial international association football championship for women’s national teams, organised by FIFA.

The 2023 winning female team will take home $10.5 million. $6.2m of which will be divided among the players. FIFA’s total investment in the women’s World Cup is budgeted to exceed $500 million.

Aside from the prize money for the winning team, FIFA outlined the prize money distribution among the 32 teams competing in the 2023 competition. Each qualifying  team will also receive at least $1,560,000 (AU$ 2,322,000).

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand, and is scheduled to take place from 20 July to 20 August 2023. On July 20, 2023, New Zealand and Norway played their first match at Eden Park in Auckland.

The final will be held at Sydney Olympic Stadium on August 20, 2023. The United States is the defending champion, having won the previous two tournaments (in 2015 and 2019).
