Rogue One, directed by Gareth Edwards, is a 2016 American epic space opera film. From a story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta, Chris Weitz and Tony Gilroy wrote the screenplay. It is the first instalment in the Star Wars anthology series, and it serves as a direct sequel to Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977).
