What is the difference between hosanna and hallelujah?

Hallelujah is an exclamation used in songs of praise or thanksgiving to God, whereas hosanna is a liturgical cry of praise or worship to God, supposed to have been shouted in acknowledgement of Jesus’ messiahship on his entry into Jerusalem and hence used in the Christian church.
