Hoda Kotb was born on August 9, 1964, in Norman, Oklahoma, United States of America.  Kotb started her career with her first on-air job at then-CBS affiliate WXVT in Greenville, Mississippi.

In 2019, Hoda Kotb and Gifford were awarded a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host during their time as co-hosts.
