Famous actress, Candice Bergen has been making the news recently after it was announced that she will be starring in Book Club: The Next Chapter. She will star along with Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, and Mary Steenburgen. The first film Book Club which was released in 2017 raked in over $100 million worldwide.

Born on May 9, 1946, Candice Bergen made her first screen appearance in the film The Group in 1966. Due to the success of the movie, she dropped out of college to focus on her career fully. That same year, she starred in The Sand Pebbles with Steve McQueen.
In 1967, she starred in Live for Life and went on to feature in the 1970 political satire The Adventurers. That same year, she also starred in Getting Straight and Soldier Blue.

From 1971 to 1980, she starred in several movies and tv shows including Carnal Knowledge, T. R. Baskin, 11 Harrowhouse, Bite the Bullet, The Wind and the Lion, The Domino Principle, A Night Full of Rain, Oliver’s Story, Rich and Famous, and more.
Bergen bagged her most popular role by far, Murphy Brown in the 1988 sitcom Murphy Brown. She won five Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series out of seven nominations from 1989 to 1995 for her role as Murphy Brown alone. The show aired until 1998.
In 2005, she starred as Shirley Schmidt in popular tv series, Boston Legal. She played the role of a founding partner in the law firm of Crane, Poole & Schmidt. She was in the series for five season and bagged Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series from 2006 to 2008.
After that, she also starred in a few other movies and v shows including Seinfield, Law & Order, Family Guy, Will & Grace, The Women, Bride Wars, The Romantics, House, Evening Primrose, and more.
It was announced on January 24, 2018 that Bergen will be reprise her role as Murphy Brown: The Reboot on CBS in fall 2018 for 13 episodes. However, it was cancelled by CBS on May 10, 2019.
