In a statement issued by the family on Thursday [February 16, 2023], they shared that his recent illness does not have any cure at the moment, however, they are still remaining hopeful and asking the media to throw more light on the disease rather than focusing on other things regarding the actor.

“As Bruce’s condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shinning a light on his disease that needs far more awareness and research,” some part of the statement read.

According to experts, the disease, Frontotemporal Dementia, simply known as FTD, “is an umbrella term for a group of brain disorders that primarily affect the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These areas of the brain are generally associated with personality, behavior, and language.”
