Icon of the Seas is currently the largest cruise ship in the world, with a gross tonnage of 250,800 GT. It is the first ship in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class.

In terms of size, the Icon of the Seas is longer than three and a half football fields, meaning that it takes almost 15 minutes to walk from one end of the ship to the other. The ship has 20 decks, making it taller than the Eiffel Tower.

The ship’s AquaDome neighborhood is an architectural marvel with a 55-foot-tall water curtain and 220° of ocean views. The $2 billion vessel is set to deliver unparalleled experiences and memories to its passengers later in January.

Icon of the Seas is powered by liquified natural gas (LNG). However, the engines can be powered with both LNG and distillate fuel. According to the company, the ship has the tallest waterfall, the tallest water slide, and the largest waterpark.

Icon of the Seas was designed by a team of architects and designers, including notable cruise ship designer Wilson Butler Architects, 3Deluxe, RTKL, Gensler, and Skylab Architecture.
