Born on January 17, 2000, in Chicago Illinois, to Nigerian parents, Ayo played high school basketball at Chicago’s Westinghouse College Prep., and Morgan Park, where he led his team to winning a conference championship.
He then committed to play college basketball at Illinois, where he earned a consensus first-team All-American as a junior.
During his collegiate, he was a consensus first-team All-American and a winner of the Bob Cousy Award.
In 2021, Ayo was drafted by the Chicago Bulls as 38th overall pick, in the second round of the NBA draft.
