In addition to winning the Heisman Trophy in 2021, he now owns the record for the most passing yards in a single game by an Alabama quarterback.
Young served as junior quarterback Mac Jones’ back-up for the entire 2020 season during his freshman year at Alabama.
At the end of the third quarter versus Missouri on September 26, 2020, at Faurot Field, Young made his collegiate debut. On that particular night, Young completed 5-of-8 passes for 54 yards while also gaining 2 yards on 4-of.
Bryce Young, the quarterback for Alabama, exited the No. 2 team’s 49-26 victory over No. 1 due to a shoulder AC joint ailment.

What injury does Bryce Young have?
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young went down with a shoulder injury in the second quarter and did not return against Arkansas. No. 2 Alabama wavered for long stretches in the third quarter,
but redshirt-freshman quarterback Jalen Milroe and star Georgia Tech transfer running back Jahmyr Gibbs saved the day with three enormous, game-breaking runs to give the Tide a 49-26 win. But all eyes will be on the status of Young moving forward.
“Bryce has a little AC sprain in his shoulder,” Alabama coach Nick Saban said, via 247Sports’ Charlie Potter. “We’ll have to take it day to day. We think he’s OK.”
