Henry Kissinger has been at the forefront of American diplomacy for longer than the majority of Americans have been alive. Kissinger, who was born in Germany on May 27, 1923, is best known for his pivotal role in American foreign policy during the 1960s and 1970s, including eventual attempts to pull the United States out of Vietnam, but not before becoming inextricably linked to many of the conflict’s most contentious actions.

As an elder statesman, Kissinger has maintained sway over Washington’s power brokers in recent years. He has advised Republican and Democratic presidents, including the Trump administration while running an international consulting firm and delivering speeches in the German accent he has retained since fleeing the Nazi regime with his family as a teenager.

Henry Kissinger collaborated with two co-authors on “The Age of AI and Our Human Future,” a book released in 2021, well beyond the age when most people are unwilling or unable to learn about the latest technology.
