Amanda Bearse, who was born on August 9, 1958, is a well-known American actress, comedian, and filmmaker. She rose to prominence after appearing in the 1985 supernatural horror film “Fright Night,” and then as Marcy Rhoades D’Arcy on the Fox comedy “Married… with Children” from 1987 to 1997.

Bearse’s career, however, goes beyond acting; she has also made an impression as a television director, having directed over 90 episodes of various comedy programs.
Bearse’s television career began in 1982 when she made her debut in the ABC daytime soap opera “All My Children” as Amanda Cousins, a role she held until 1983.

The next year, she appeared in the comedy picture “Protocol,” starring Goldie Hawn, and then in the sex comedy “Fraternity Vacation.” Bearse, on the other hand, made her mark in 1985 as the female lead in the supernatural horror film “Fright Night.”

After a lengthy sabbatical, she returned to television in 1986 as a guest star in the ABC drama series “Hotel.” But it wasn’t until 1987 that Bearse won one of her most memorable roles, as Marcy Rhoades (later Marcy D’Arcy), the feminist next-door neighbor in the hit Fox sitcom “Married… with Children,” alongside Ed O’Neill and Kate Sagal.
