Shane Peter McClanahan (born April 28, 1997) is a Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays. He debuted in Major League Baseball not long ago, in the year 2020.

Shane, on the other hand, has been playing baseball since his sophomore year and has a 29-7 win-loss record. The New York Mets took him in the 26th round of the 2015 MLB Draft, but he declined to sign with them.
Following that, McClanahan entered the 2018 MLB Draft and was chosen 31st overall by the Tampa Bay Rays. He was also chosen to play in the 2023 MLB All-Star Game but was unable to do so due to his name being on the injured list. Furthermore, Shane McClanahan is a two-time All-Star (2022 & 2023).

McClanahan has missed back-to-back starts owing to back tightness, and he will now be placed on the injured list to address the issue. It’s unclear how long the 26-year-old lefty will be out, but he won’t be able to pitch again until at least after the All-Star break. In a matching move, Jalen Beeks was recalled from Triple-A Durham.
