Green pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of furnishing a controlled substance on October 21, 2013, after the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office declined to file a charge of rape of an intoxicated person due to a lack of evidence.

CeeLo Green pleaded no contest to one felony count of furnishing ecstasy on August 29, 2014, and was sentenced to three years of probation, 360 hours of community service, and 52 Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

Green was chastised for tweets about his sexual battery court case on August 31, 2014. Two of his rape-related tweets were deleted “People who have been raped REMEMBER!!!” and “If someone is passed out, they are not even consciously WITH you!” As a result, WITH implies agreement.”

He temporarily deactivated his Twitter account after a series of tweets about rape. He reactivated it a few hours later with the following apology: “I sincerely apologise for the tweets that were attributed to me. Those comments were idiotic, untrue, and contrary to my beliefs.”
