What happened with Amie Harwick?

Amie Harwick was a licensed marriage and family therapist and a former fiancée of comedian Drew Carey.

On February 15, 2020, Harwick was murdered in her Hollywood Hills home. Her ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, was arrested and charged with her murder.

The police found evidence of forced entry and signs of a struggle in the home, and Harwick had suffered injuries consistent with a fall from a height.

The police received a call from a friend of Harwick who had gone to her home to check on her because she was concerned that she had not heard from her.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Harwick unresponsive and suffering from injuries consistent with a fall.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner officially ruled her death as a homicide caused by blunt force injuries to the head and torso.

Pursehouse, Harwick’s ex-boyfriend, was identified as the primary suspect in her death, and he was arrested and charged with murder.

According to the police, there was a history of domestic violence between Harwick and Pursehouse. Harwick had filed for a restraining order against him in 2011, but it had expired.
