The day after her 19th birthday celebration, Alia Rose lost her mother. She discovered her mother’s body in the hotel where she lay lifeless.

Since then, she has struggled to make sense of death.

She said in an interview, “Honestly, I’m still figuring out how I feel about the situation. It was a real thing at first. I could pretend my mom was on a tour and she was coming back, but when I got to that two-month mark, I realised she wasn’t.

So I had to start learning how to be alone and that’s when I got a little crazy for a second, but I’m doing alright because I’m one with God”.
On December 30, 2010, an autopsy was performed by the Los Angeles County coroner, who found no signs of apparent trauma or a discernible cause of death and concluded she had died from natural causes.
She had suffered a generalised tonic-clonic seizure a month before.
