Sue Baker, best known forr her work as one of the original presenters of BBC’s Top Gear has died. She was 67 years.

Baker, who joined the popular automobile series in 1980, died on Monday morning, Nov. 14, 2022, after a long battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), an uncommon condition that affects the brain and nerves.
MND causes weakness that gets worse over time and though it has no cure, there are treatments to help reduce the impact it has on a person’s daily life.
Baker appeared in over a hundred episodes of BBC’s Top Gear until 1991, when she departed the show.

She played a critical role in the formation and running of the Motor Racing News Service and also served as the Observer’s motoring editor for 13 years, departing in 1995.
An acclaimed journalist, Baker also served as the vice-president and a former chair of The Guild of Motoring Writers, who have paid glowing tribute to her.
The Guild of Motoring Writers in their tribute, described her as “a pioneer for women in automotive journalism.”
She is survived by her family, which includes her two children, Hannah and Ian, two grandsons, George and Tom, and a daughter-in-law Lucy.
