Selma Archerd, a familiar face at Hollywood events alongside her husband, longtime Variety columnist Army Archerd, has passed away at the age of 98. Various reports state that she died on December 14 in Los Angeles.

Throughout her 27-year career in television and film, Archerd primarily played background roles, contributing to an extensive list of appearances. Notably, she portrayed a hostage in the 1988 film “Die Hard” and had a recurring role as Nurse Amy in the 1990s soap opera “Melrose Place.”
Archerd’s presence extended to numerous movies and TV shows, including “The Brady Bunch,” “Serpico,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Lethal Weapon 3,” “Fun with Dick and Jane,” “Can’t Stop the Music,” “Mommie Dearest,” and “Scrooged.”
Selma and Army Archerd were fixtures on the Hollywood social scene for many years during their 39-year marriage. Army Archerd passed away in 2009 at the age of 87.
Survived by two sons, James Rosenblum and Richard Rosenblum, as well as a grandson, Ryan Rosenblum, the family has requested that donations in Selma Archerd’s memory be made to the Exceptional Children’s Foundation based in Culver City, California.
