What Happened to Rugby league star Bryn Hargreaves?

Rugby league star Bryn Hargreaves was reported missing in Cheat Lake, West Virginia, in January 2022, where he was last seen.

Mr Hargreaves, who was 36 at the time, was reported missing having failed to arrive for work in the United States where he lived.

Following his disappearance, a massive search was launched in Morgantown, West Virginia, led by police and tracker dogs.

His family hired a private investigator to look into Hargreaves’ disappearance because they suspected he had been kidnapped.

Hargreaves’ body was discovered 14 months after he was reported missing, in March 2023, according to his family.

His brother Gareth confirmed the tragic news on Facebook. He stated: “Bryn Hargreaves, rest in peace. With great sadness, I can confirm that we have finally found Bryn after 14 months of searching.

“We still don’t know what happened on 3/1/22 or what caused the death. Thank you to everyone who assisted with the search.

Bryn Hargraves played for St Helens and Bradford Bulls. During his time playing for St Helens, he won the 2008 Challenge Cup. After making 175 appearances in the top flight, he decided to retire from the game.
