Robert Crutchfield died on Friday, April 7, 2023, after battling with a longtime illness at the age of 85. He was an American tv publicity executive who played an integral role in the entertainment industry for more than 40 years before he officially retired.

Before his death, he produced and starred on a weekly podcast channel he created named As I See It, where he talks about his forty years in Hollywood.

Crutchfield started working on NBC Drama Dr. Kildare and other films including The Unsinkable Molly Brown (1964), The Rounders (1965), and more.

He signed with Fox in 1959 but lost the contract due to the studio facing severe financial issues. He also signed a two-year contract with conditions on terms on the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences publicity committee and was also the founding member of the Television Publicity Executives Committee.
In 2000, Crutchfield launched Crutchfield Entertainment. The company is a broadcast production studio that specializes in commercial voiceovers, training videos, documentaries, and audiobooks. It is located in the Palm Springs area.
