Renate Krößner died at age 75 on May 25, 2020, after suffering from a short illness. She was a famous German actress who started her career in the mid-60s when she appeared in her first film dubbed Tiefe Furchen in 1965.

She became internationally recognized due to her role in the movie Bis daß de Tod euch scheidet which was released in 1979. She played the role of a woman’s best friend in a film about violence in a young marriage.

Krößner also appeared in several movies and tv shows including North Curve, Alles auf Zucker! Stubbe – Von Fall zu Fall, Emmal Bulle, immer Bulle, and more. She won a Deutscher Filmpresis award for Best Actress for her role in North Curve.
What made her one of the most popular, if not the most popular actress in Germany, was her role as Sunny in Solo Sunny, released in 1980. She won several awards for this film. Some of these awards include the Silver Bear for Best Actress.
