What Happened To P-22? How Did P-22 Die?

P-22, the mountain lion known as “the Hollywood cat” has been euthanized by state wildlife officials on Saturday, 17th December 2022.

P-22, the mountain lion was euthanized due to injuries and poor health. Following a thorough examination due to dangerous changes in his behaviour, P-22 had irreversible kidney disease, liver disease, localized arthritis, heart disease, chronic weight loss and a parasitic skin infection over his entire body.

P-22 was already in an already weakened state when he was likely struck by a car of recent. The impact of the vehicle resulted in significant trauma to his head, skull fracture, right eye and internal organs.

P-22 has gained fame due to his success in living in an urban environment, which is unusual for mountain lions.

P-22 has been the subject of several scientific studies, and researchers have monitored his movements and behaviour to learn more about mountain lions in urban environments.
