Lauren Scruggs Kennedy is an American author, fashion blogger, and journalist who lost her arm and eyes because of an accident. On December 3, 2011, she accidentally walked into a spinning plane propeller causing her to lose her left eye and left arm.

This life-threatening injury caught international attention as the news spread wildly throughout all parts of the world.
Lauren Scruggs published a number of books and notable amongst them are “Still Lolo: A Spinning Propeller, a Horrific Accident, and a Family’s Journey of Hope.” This piece of book was compiled and published in 2012 after her enduring this life-threatening injury.

After Lauren Scruggs had flown with a pilot friend in a plane to view Christmas lights in Dallas, she exited the plane in darkness and walked into the spinning propellers. In addition to her injured hand and damaged left eye, she suffered a brain injury.
Lauren underwent surgery on December 15, 2011, for her damaged left eye to be removed. It was replaced with a prosthesis in the surgery.
She is the founder of the Lauren Scruggs Kennedy Foundation, which is a Non-Governmental Organisation that seeks to provide prostheses to women in need.
