As a redshirt sophomore playing for Iowa, Jack Nunge sustained a season-ending torn meniscus of his right knee on February 25, 2021, at Michigan. For his junior year, Jack Nunge transferred to Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Jack Nunge is in his junior year at Xavier. Jack Nunge revealed that he won’t return to Xavier in 2023-24 for a seventh year of eligibility.
On December 11, 2021, he posted a career-high 31 points and 15 rebounds in an 83–63 win against Cincinnati. Jack Nunge was named Honorable Mention All-Big East.

In his fifth game as a sophomore, Jack Nunge suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.
