What Happened To Daniel Moshi: How Did Daniel Moshi Die?

Daniel Moshi, 17, died unexpectedly after collapsing while singing a solo at a choir event in Naperville, Illinois, on Friday, October 14, 2022, according to his family and officials.

Moshi’s mother reported that he appeared fine when she dropped him off at school earlier that day. She told NBC Chicago that he had even checked in when he arrived at Naperville North High School for the choir show.

“He texted me, ‘Mom, I’m here around 5 o’clock approximately,” she said. “I texted him, ‘I said everything good?’ I have his text. He said, ‘Yep, all good mom,’” she told the station.

Then, less than two hours later, the family got a devastating call. “I got the call from his teacher, musical teacher. And she said there’s an incident,” his father, Loden Moshi, told NBC Chicago.

“They told us that while he was doing his solo, he just passed out,” Karolin Moshi said. “When I got there, Daniel was already gone. My precious baby boy.”

The Moshis agreed to an autopsy and initial results did not determine a cause of death. More tests may take several weeks.
