Dana Carvey Entertainment Career
Dana Carvey gained widespread recognition in 1986 when he was cast on the NBC sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live” (SNL).

Carvey has since proven himself to be a talented stand-up comedian, and has performed many comedy specials and live shows including The Dana Carvey Show.

He became known for his impersonations of celebrities like George H.W. Bush and Ross Perot, as well as creating popular characters such as Garth Algar from Wayne’s World.
Carvey’s portrayal of Garth Algar in the Wayne’s World sketches on SNL led to a successful film adaptation in 1992. The movie eventually became a commercial success.
Aside from Wayne’s World, Carvey has appeared in other films and TV shows such as Clean Slate, The Dana Carvey Show, The Master of Disguise, Just Shoot Me! and Family Guy.
For his role on SNL, Carvey has received several awards including five Emmy Award nominations and an Emmy Award.
