Cormac McCarthy has died from natural causes at the age of 89. His youngest son, John McCarthy, aged 25, announced the death of his father to numerous news outlets and social media as well. According to him, his death occurred on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

McCarthy became a successful and commercial author through his 1992 book All the Pretty Horses, for which he received both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Awards. He went on to release several books before the 2000s. Some of them are The Crossing (1994), Cities of the Plain (1998), and the Border Trilogy.

He began the 2000s with his book No Country for the Old Men (2005) and The Road (2007). While the 2005 book did not make as much impact in the ‘book’ world as The Road, it was adapted into a film in 2007 and became a massive success, winning four Academy Awards including Best Picture.
Some of his other books include The Counselor, The Gardener’s Son, Cities of Plain, The Orchard Keeper, and more.
