Barry Reardon’s cause of death is not known yet but he was reported dead on Monday, June 5. 2023, at age 92. He reportedly died in Vero Beach, FL.

He held top positions at major entertainment companies before he died. He started his career in the entertainment industry in 1967 when he joined Paramount Pictures in NYC as the associate to the VP of Finance.
Reardon moved to marketing and distribution as VP and Assistant to the President while still at Paramount. He joined General Cinema Corporation in Boston in 1975 – in charge of marketing and film procurement. At that time General Cinema was the largest movie circuit in the US.

He was recruited by Warner Bros and turned it into his dream job and served as the head of Theatre Distribution at Warner Bros from 1978-1999. The Batman movies released during his time raked in $1.2 billion, and over $1 billion in four Lethal Weapon movies.

Reardon developed an internal marketing data system with fellow executives that could track rivals’ trailers from the previous 10 years, their grosses, and actors’ track records with box office and critics.
