Born on September 17, 1992, in Dominican Republic, Jose first signed with the Cleveland Indians/Guardians as an amateur free agent in 2009, before he made his MLB debut in 2013.
He helped the Indians/Guardians, qualify for their first World Series appearance in 19 years. As a result, Jose was named winner of the Bob Feller Man of the Year Award.
Jose was selected to the MLB All-Star Game, he won the Silver Slugger Award four times, and in 2017, he became “the 19th player in history to hit at least 56 doubles in one season.”
His MLB statistics shows a record of .280 batting average, 1,277 hits, 210 home runs, 731 runs batted in, and 190 stolen bases.
In 2022, Jose signed a 5-year contract extension worth $124 million with the Cleveland Guardians.
