Randall Herman Meisner was a founding member of the Eagles and an American musician who lived from March 8, 1946, to July 26, 2023. Meisner’s primary function as a bassist and supporting high-harmony voice throughout his professional musical career was as a group member and session musician. He co-wrote the Eagles’ popular song “Take It to the Limit” and provided the lead vocals on it.

Meisner got hitched twice. In November 1963, he gave birth to a son named Dana Scott Meisner after marrying Jennifer Lee Barton, his high school sweetheart. Before divorcing in 1981, the couple had two more children, identical twins Heather Leigh and Eric Shane Meisner, born in May 1970.
Later, in November 1996, Meisner wed Lana Rae, his 12-year partner. The couple was wed till her passing in 2016.
