The Brazil international is currently recovering from injury having sustained ankle ligament damage towards the end of PSG’s Ligue 1 win at Saint-Etienne in November.

Neymar has been relatively healthy during his short career, the notable exception being the back injury that saw him miss out on the 2014 World Cup semi-final match against Germany. Since then, he’s only suffered minor knocks.

Neymar has emerged as one of world football’s biggest stars in the past few years and is part of arguably the best attacking threesome in the world alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

He came into prominence at Santos, where he made his professional debut aged 17.

He helped the club win two successive Campeonato Paulista championships, a Copa do Brasil, and the 2011 Copa Libertadores; the latter being Santos’ first since 1963.

Neymar was twice named the South American Footballer of the Year, in 2011 and 2012, and soon relocated to Europe to join Barcelona.
