Chris Fischer is an American chef and farmer from Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts best recognized as the husband of stand-up comedian and actress Amy Schumer.

Chris Fischer was born in 1980, in Chilmark, Massachusetts, United States. His father, Albert, is a former commercial fisherman, who taught him how to hunt, fish and farm.

Chris Fischer spent much of his boyhood at Martha’s Vineyard. As a chef, he has worked under Mario Batali at Babbo while living in Manhattan and has also cooked in Europe, worked at the American Academy in Rome and London’s The River Cafe.

Chris Fischer was the executive chef at the Beach Plum Inn & Restaurant. He was awarded the 2014 StarChefs.com Coastal New England Rising Stars Award.

In 2016, Chris Fischer was awarded the James Beard Award for his book The Beetlebung Farm Cookbook, which he wrote with co-author Catherine Young. He tied the knot with comedienne and actress Amy Schumer on February 13, 2018, in Malibu, California.
