According to witness testimonies presented during the trial, it was alleged that Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants beat Clive “Lizard” Williams to death at Kartel’s residence in August 2011.
The motive for the attack was reported to be a dispute over a missing firearm. The witnesses claimed that Williams was brought to Kartel’s house, where he was assaulted and ultimately killed.

During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence, including text messages and voice recordings, which they claimed linked Vybz Kartel and his co-defendants to the murder. These pieces of evidence were said to show discussions and plans related to the attack on Williams.
The trial lasted for several months, and in March 2014, Vybz Kartel, along with three other co-accused, was found guilty of the murder of Clive Williams. Kartel and his co-defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment with eligibility for parole after serving 35 year
