Sonya Eddy reportedly died on December 19, 2022 in Los Angeles, California, United States. But, the cause of death is yet to be revealed. Eddy was 55.

Eddy’s death was announced by her friend and fellow actor Octavia Spencer on Instagram.
“My friend @sonyaeddy passed away last night.” “The world lost another creative angel.” “Her legions of ‘General Hospital’ fans will miss her”, Octavia Spencer wrote.

Born June 17, 1967 in Concord, California, Sonya attended the University of California, Davis, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in 1992.
The actress commenced her acting career with Ruby Dee’s play “Zora Is My Name” in 1990.
Sonya Eddy subsequently starred in over 100 films and tv series including General Hospital (2006–2022), Satanic Hispanics (2022), Frank and Penelope (2022), I Live Alone (2021), Good on Paper (2021), Tommy (2020), Those Who Can’t (2016), Fresh Off the Boat (2015), Murphy Brown (1988), Bell: The New Class (1993), Married… with Children (1995-1997), Blast (1997), High School High (1996), and many others.
Sonya Eddy won an Arty Award for her powerful portrayal of Bloody Mary in “South Pacific”.
