Roger Thomas Staubach is a former American professional football quarterback who played for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons.

Staubach volunteered to go to Vietnam in 1965 and worked at the Da Nang Air Base supply corps office. According to the United States Naval Academy, Staubach spent one year of his military career overseas and four years on active duty.

Staubach joined Dallas in 1969 and spent his entire 11-year career with the club. He led the team to the Super Bowl five times, four of which he started.

He led the Cowboys to Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII victories. Staubach was named Super Bowl VI’s Most Valuable Player, becoming the first of four players to win both the Heisman Trophy and the Super Bowl MVP, joining Jim Plunkett, Marcus Allen, and Desmond Howard.

During his 11-year NFL career, he was named to the Pro Bowl six times. Until his retirement in 2018, he was the executive chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Americas region. He is regarded as one of the all-time great quarterbacks.
