According to Kyrgios, his behaviour was fuelled after saying “someone just yelled out I was s**t in the crowd today”, causing him to snap and spit in the direction of the fan. He accused the fan of trying to “stir up disrespect”.

What was Kyrgios complaining about?
Nick Krygios complained bitterly about the actions of some members of the crowd during his Wimbledon first-round match against Britain’s Paul Jubb. He complained post-match about a linesman’s eyesight calling him an old man with whom he disagreed.
“I said most of the umpires are older, and I just don’t think that’s ideal when you’re playing a sport of such small margins”, Kyrgios said.
