Kevin Durant, the great forward for the Brooklyn Nets, took to Twitter to respond to a First Take piece about whether Stephen Curry has improved or worsened the game.

Stephen Curry, according to Smith, “elevated” the game without necessarily changing the way it is played. Mike D’Antoni, according to Smith, is to blame for the league-wide increase in 3-pointers, whereas Curry simply made that style acceptable with his shooting ability.
“He was so good that the NBA advertised him as an individual, and the audience gravitated toward him,” Smith said. “People wanted to be like Mike, thus the game grew more personalised.”

This, like several other Smith, takes, enraged Twitter users, including Durant. Durant’s quote tweet: “My theory is that guys like steve, skip and Shannon have changed the game for the worse. Playas like Stephen and Michael can only push the game forward.”

Durant was a member of the Warriors for three seasons before joining the Nets in the summer of 2019. He won both of his NBA championships with Golden State during his time there.
