Australian rules footballer, Jordan De Goey might be facing suspension soon after the heavy clash with Elijah Hewett at the Optus Stadium. He clashed with the West Coast player in the head, leading to a concussion, and seeing Hawett exit from the match.

“He’s copped the arm high from De Goey. It’s a two-fold thing – one, why are you bumping when you know how much trouble there is, and, if you are, why the heck aren’t you getting low and getting underneath the upper body of the opposition player? Otherwise, you’re going to be in trouble,” Commentator Jason Dunstall said.

If De Goey gets suspended, he will be ineligible for this year’s Brownlow Medal.

Collingwood has two of its biggest games this season coming up with Melbourne and Adelaide in the next fortnight.

De Goey sits fourth in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award and has in the midst of his best season at the AFL level for a team that has lost just one game in 2023.
