Jimmy Carter served the people of the United States Of America from January 1977 to January 1981. After he lost the 1980 elections to Ronald Ragan, he achieved the status of a former president of the US.

After exiting the White House. Jimmy returned to Georgia to his peanut plantation. He founded the Carter Centre in 1982. The Carter Centre was aimed at alleviating human suffering, improving health, improving the quality of and advancing human rights.

Jimmy Carter built the presidential library and authored some books after he left the office of the presidency. The joint library and museum is located in Atlanta, Georgia to house all materials relating to Jimmy Carter’s administration.
