The slur remarks occurred when Glen Kuiper was discussing what he and broadcast partner Dallas Braden had done earlier in the day in Kansas City during a broadcast on NBC Sports California for a game between the A’s and the Kansas City Royals on May 5, 2023.
Kuiper appeared to have said “nigger league museum” when referring to the two’s visit to the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

“A little bit earlier in the show, I said something, that didn’t come out quite the way I wanted it to, and I just wanted to apologise if it sounded different than I meant to be said,” Kuiper said after returning from a commercial break in the top of the sixth inning.
“All I wanted to do was apologise.” The A’s issued a statement on Twitter following the game condemning Kuiper’s remarks, saying, “The language used by Glen Kuiper during today’s pregame broadcast is unacceptable.”
Such language is not tolerated by the Oakland Athletics. We are attempting to resolve the situation.”
