Dayne Beams is a well-known former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League.

Dayne Beams was born on February 12, 1990, in, Yarrawonga Victoria, Australia. He had received a sports scholarship to attend Palm Beach Currumbin State High School in his teenage years.
Dayne Beams has previously played for and captained, the Brisbane Lions during the 2017 season. He later stepped down as captain during the 2018 season following certain personal issues. He retired from the AFL in October 2020 due to battling a gambling and prescription drug addiction.

Dayne Beams was traded by the Lions alongside two third-round picks in exchange for a 2018 first-round pick, a 2018 third-rounder and a 2019 first-round pick.
Why does Collingwood pay Dayne Beams?
Dayne Beams’s contract had reportedly led to salary cap problems at the Magpies. This was shown in the recent year’s trade period when they offloaded several stars while getting little in return.
