Caroline Jones, an Australian radio and television journalist who spent more than 40 years at the ABC, died in May 2022. Caroline Jones, 84, died following a fall at her Sydney home.

Jones is recognised as a groundbreaking journalist who left an outstanding legacy. On Friday, May 20, Caitlin Shea, executive producer of Australian Story, issued a statement.
“It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the death of Caroline Jones, our dearly loved Australian Story presenter for many years,” Shea added.
“Caroline has made incalculable contributions to Australian Story.” Without her, the programme would not be where it is now.” Jones’ grace, friendliness, and professionalism were remembered by the players, according to Shea.

Ms Jones worked for the national broadcaster for 53 years, first as a reporter in Canberra in 1963 and then as a reporter on This Day Tonight in Sydney. From 1987 until 1994, she hosted The Search for Meaning, an ABC radio show on spirituality that featured people telling their life stories.
Ms Jones received a Walkley Award in 2013 for Outstanding Contribution to Journalism, and she was inducted into the Australian Media Hall of Fame in 2021.
