What did Attorney General Paxton do?

Ken Paxton is a Texas attorney and politician who has been the state’s Attorney General since January 2015.

Paxton has been indicted on state securities fraud charges relating to activities prior to taking office since 2015.

He has entered a not guilty plea. Several high-level assistants in Paxton’s office accused him of “bribery, abuse of office, and other crimes” in October 2020.

After Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election and Donald Trump refused to concede while falsely claiming election fraud.

Paxton aided Trump in his efforts to overturn the result, from filing the unsuccessful Texas v. Pennsylvania case in the Supreme Court to speaking at Trump’s rally on January 6, 2021, which immediately preceded the 2021 United States Capitol attack.

Ken Paxton fled his home in a truck driven by his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, to avoid being served a subpoena on Monday September 26 2022, according to an affidavit filed in federal court.
