The next ship after Icon of the Seas is Star of the Seas, which is scheduled to debut in the summer of 2025. Star of the Seas will be the second ship in Royal Caribbean’s new Icon Class, following Icon of the Seas.

The captain of Icon of the Seas is Captain Henrik Loy. Captain Loy has been with Royal Caribbean for over 25 years and was born and raised in Bergen, Norway.
Captain Henrik Loy has been working with the team on the ground to see that inspections, training, tests, and prep for key moments in the construction process go smoothly.

Icon of the Seas is powered by liquified natural gas (LNG). However, the engines can be powered with both LNG and distillate fuel. According to the company, the ship has the tallest waterfall, the tallest water slide, and the largest waterpark.
The ship’s AquaDome neighborhood is an architectural marvel with a 55-foot-tall water curtain and 220° of ocean views. The $2 billion vessel is set to deliver unparalleled experiences and memories to its passengers later in January.
