Alex Padilla, an American politician and member of the Democratic party, attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he bagged a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Alex was raised in Pacoima, Los Angeles, and had his high school education at San Fernando High School in North East San Fernando Valley.
After his first degree in 1994, he went ahead to graduate from the Coro Fellows Southern California Program in 1995.

Alex is a democrat who currently serves as the junior States senator.
He began his political journey in 1995.

He served on the Los Angeles City Council for over 7 years and then elected into the California State Senate for the 20th district for another 8 years.

Alex is the first Mexican American and Hispanic to be elected senator from California.
Alex has served in several committees such as the Business and Professions and Economic Development Committee, Governmental Organization Committee, Labor and Industrial Relations Committee, the Select Committee on Science, Innovation and Public Policy.
Alex Padilla Early Years
As a trained engineer, Alex had a stinct in Hughes Aircraft, where he wrote software for satellite systems.
Alex has also been a part of the governing board of MIT and president of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO).
He currently chairs the Los Angeles Leadership Council for the American Diabetes Association.
