The Bahrain International Circuit is a 5.412 km (3.363 mi) motorsport facility that opened in 2004 and is currently utilized for drag racing, the GP2 Series (now FIA Formula 2), and the annual Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix.

The inaugural Grand Prix in the Middle East was contested in 2004. Beginning in 2006, Australian V8 Supercars raced at the BIC in the Desert 400 event.

The V8 Supercars, on the other hand, did not return for the 2011 season. BIC also hosts 24-hour endurance races.  The circuit is FIA Grade 1 certified.  The circuit also has several layouts.

The Bahrain Grand Prix is a Formula One motor racing event held in Bahrain. It is presently known as the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix due to sponsorship reasons. On April 4, 2004, the first race was held at the Bahrain International Circuit.

It created history as the first Formula One Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East, and the FIA awarded it the title of “Best Organized Grand Prix.” The event has traditionally been scheduled as the third race on the Formula One calendar.
